Transvestites feel a need to take temporarily dress and behavior of the opposite sex. Identical, in contrast to trans identity, they have a clear gender. It does not need (medical) treatment for transvestism, but affected must have their "tendency" to live out, mentally and physically in order to stay healthy.

Transvestism runs largely hidden from view, is independent of sexual orientation and not a specifically gay phenomenon.

After vague estimates about 5% of all men transvestites who are most of them are heterosexual. Many are also unaware of their own inclination and ashamed of the show to open. Many women know but also to the desire of their partner and do not tolerate this property. Female transvestites are rare and are less because you get used to women in masculine attire.
